LAKE WESSERUNSETT WATER QUALITY MONITORS NEEDED
I have had the pleasure of monitoring the water quality of Lake Wesserunsett for 30 years as a volunteer in the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program (VLMP). My daughter, Elizabeth, has helped me in recent years and is a VLMP Regional Coordinator, in addition to being the President of the Lake Wesserunsett Association (LWA). The time has come, however, when we need help as I can no longer do the necessary monitoring and Elizabeth, who lives in Orono, cannot either.

I am therefore asking that anyone who is interested in taking over the monitoring program and is willing to meet the requirements of the program to contact one of us as soon as possible. These requirements are in this issue of Waves and are also posted on the LWA website (Wesserunsett.org). LWA needs at least one, and preferably two, new volunteer monitors. VLMP training would have to be completed as early as possible this spring in order to do the monitoring during the months of May through October.
